Tech Day and British Car Show
Chicago 2002
A note from Marty:
Guys,
Just wanted to pass along this info in case you have not already received it.
This is the annual Fall Tech Day Event that is held by the Chicago DeLorean
Club. The Tech Event is held on Saturday with a British Car Show being held near
by, which many of us attend on Sunday. It's a good opportunity to meet some
great DeLorean people and even do a little work to your car, if needed.
I am currently working on getting some group rates set up with a motel in the
area. As soon as the info is finalized, I'll pass it along to everyone.
A note from Dave Swingle of the DeLorean Midwest Connection:
An update on our Tech session coming up September 7
(followed by the British Car Union on September 8).
RSVP NEEDED BY AUGUST 23. I'd like to know if you're
coming, even if you don't need any work done.
First - I've confirmed that Stephen Wynne and James
Espey of DeLorean Motor Company (TX) will be attending. They are planning on
demonstrating some of the new parts that you may not have seen yet. This
includes their new fuel sender, suction hose, gaskets, and mirrors. Although
Stephen does not work directly on cars like Don Steger, he also does not charge
us to attend! And in the past we have been able to get him to lend a hand and
some great advice when needed.
Please contact me to set up your time and discuss what
you are doing. We will have a couple of resources there to help you, but
generally this is a do-it-yourself, lighter-maintenance/door adjustment/cooling
flush sort of session. If you do need something more serious talk to me -
between Marty and I maybe we'll tackle it. I have heard from a few of you so
far, but still have plenty of extra lift time available. Please - lets take
advantage of this facility!
So far I think I have scheduled an auto trans service,
TA Bolt change, Cooling flushes, SS Brake Line install, and a general inspection
or two.
Once again, the time is 9-5 on Saturday the 7th at
Neuqua Valley HS, Naperville, 95th street just east of Route 59. $15 at the door
to attend. No mechanic charge.
We are also planning on having an informal dinner
afterwards (like last time) although we are trying to have something slightly
more pre-arranged than our normal "let's see how many people we can lose in
a caravan" contest. Let me know if you are interested in attending that.
Dinner is usually about 6 pm or so. This will be individual-tab payment as
usual.
I am currently on vacation, so either write back via
email or wait until Thursday evening (15th) to call me.
